No more are we sexy russian men…:(
Just thought i would have one last blog…it’s really sad i’m trying to slowly wean myself off this blogging process and constant chatter about ensemble.
Well firstly Thursday went so well. There is no way that we could have performed it any better i think. No slip up of lines, no breaks of focus, even though we had cameras flashing, people talking, people walking in and out and people constantly laughing. We made people cry! It was amazing, people who didnt even know us were crying because they were so moved. As cash said at the end of the day we were only moving a rostrum block as if it was a coffin. But it was the way we did it and used the piano (kissin you) that evoked that amazing response.
We got our marks today, it was a huge shock but there is no way we could have asked for better grades! It’s not humanly possible lol to do better then what we did. I actually got emotional when i saw my grade, becuase we all put so much time into it and it really payed off. (Ves n i worked out all up we spent about 2 weeks of our lives on ensemble (class and outside of school lol))
Anyway, thankyou all for being the best ensemble group ever, i will always remember what we did and secretly we will always be sexy, slow speaking fast paced focused russian men lol
Jess
I hope we can perform it again to film it…my mum says she does too lol
speechless

SHOW TIME!
Okay one day to go! But I must admit I’m feeling very confident about our ensemble. We have worked hard the past few days leading up, staying back at school till 5.30pm rehearsing. This week definitely has worn us out, but after ensemble is over and done with, it’ll be worth it.
Monday: we started really running through our ensemble with the completion of our script writing on Friday. We had a few stops and start during scenes on when we would put our white shirts on or loose lines.
Tuesday: We really made an immense improvement with our run throughs, being able to completely go through our whole ensemble without stopping as much as we were. We worked out and organise where we would place our props and fragmentary costumes which we collect at different scenes. This seems to be working very well now with our transitions. We had the benefit of two friends able to sit in and watch our second run through. The positive feedback from them was great for our motivation.
Wednesday: Today’s rehearsal we did two full run throughs. For the first time we practiced using our organisational stickers for scene 5 showing our change of characters and what organisation we’re from. We managed by our second run through to have the basics of our sticker swapping. However, tomorrow before show time I really think we will be able to get it down pack.
Before tomorrow, we just have to really make sure we work on perfecting our pace, volume and diction … oh and remembering all our lines!! Ahhh! But I think we have been working a long time towards this and I think we’ll do great tomorrow night.
Rest up ladies.

It is time!
Girls as i am writing this, i feel almost as if i have to perform this second. The nerves have really kicked in and i can’t imagine how i will be feeling tomorrow or if i will sleep tonight for that matter. Ahhhh! But the show will go on and as we are such natural born performers our nerves will not effect us one bit. Everything is pretty much in place now. As cashy said it is so tight that the slightest mistake is completely obvious to the audience. That is such a good thing though and i feel like we have achieved so much. Plus i don’t know about you girls but to have your teacher say that kinda thing to you….it makes me feel pretty chuffed lol.
Tomorrow when we have a spare second, recess maybe if you all want? Just to go over the press conference scene to ensure that it is completely tight. I know i myself screwed it up in the last run through and came in slightly too early.
Still going over my lines for scene 5, at least today i didn’t have another terrets moment and drop the f bomb in front of Cashy again lol (sorry cash!)
Putting togther all my research that i have done over the past few months on the ensemble and we have all done heaps i think. Though if i am really analysing our research progress i found there was a lot of the research that was later deemed unneccessary as we never used it. Oh well, nothing like some extra knowledge up our sleeve. PLus we still were will within the time frame, so therefore our extending research period was not a mistake at all.
Lucia said it perfectly about Cashy, it must be really annoying alot of days having to come in and get 5 hyped up drama girls on the task at hand(especially when all they seem to talk about is their bf’s or the musical lol) But seriously Cashy’s input was awesome and because he was so honest with all of us, i think even in a few months we have all grown tremendously in our performance skills. So thanks Cashy, even though you don’t bring us chocolate biscuits lol!
Must sleep now, even though havent done psych homework all week…sac on friday! ahhhhhh
Sweet dreams of Chernobyl and russian firemen in uniform lol heheh

Ladies…… THIS IS IT!!!!!
Ladies,
Okay may I just state that this has been a fabulous experience working with you ladies you are all amazing!!!! We couldn’t have asked for a better group of talented and beautiful women to work with and spend our year 12 drama year with.
Just some notes on what we need to look out for tomorrow night-
1. Pace - must remeber and keep notice and attention on our pace and they speed we’re speaking and moving keep it good but not to fast!!!!
2. Diction and lines - just let our memories ride off our tongues and clearly have faith in what we know and can do!!!
3. ENERGY -Â MASSIVE ENERGY, energy is the key to a entertaining performance, we want people to enjoy themselves and remember our ensemble as fantastically entertaining.
3. Have FUN!!! -Â we have put sooooooooooo much work into this let’s enjoy ourselves and celebrate by making it the best we can!!!!!!!
Thank you ladies for a fabulous time putting this together it’s been a blast!!!!!!
And a big THANKS to CASHY!!!! We could not have done it without your help and guidance thank you soooooo much!!!
LET”S ROCK THIS ENSEMBLE!!!!
Lucia xoxoxoxo
Hey Ladies,
There was a massive contrast in our rehearsal from monday to today, tuesday!! Yesterday we had a slow pace, not to great mood, memory problems, still needed to edit teeny tiny little lines here and there and finish up scenes such as fireman scene. Today we cleared up majority of the problems. We had fabulous pace and mood, more with the second run through, we still had some memory problems but mainly they were fine, and we edited little parts that have really tidied up our performance all around in the earlier scenes i.e. terminal line.
So ladies we just need to keep going over it to get used to frag. changes, placing and getting the main feel of it!!!!
Let’s keep going girls only 2 days to go!!!!
Lucia xoxo
2 MORE SLEEEEPS..
Well with 2 more sleeps to go until show-time i think we are doing mighty fine.
Must admit i was extremely anxious and nervous before our run-through at this afternoons performance because it was the first complete run-through without using scripts or discussion in between scenes. But once we started i eased into it and felt that the rehearsal was beneficial.
I think that once we got past the initial fear of doing a complete run-through it became much more easier. EXTREMELY excited about tomorrow nights rehearsal so we can get the performance even tighter and remember those tiny things we are still forgetting.. like me moving the poster :S hehe
38 minutes for a 40 minute performance is quite exciting :d
stefania xo
Rudsta…word lol
Great energy at rehearsal today i think girls. The two run throughs we got through between 3.30 and 5.30 were really beneficial. Our blocking improved, our pace improved, and the general aura of the ensemble was completely rockin’!!
I think i have actually reached the excited stage now, where i am feeling really positive about our performance and even beginning to feel better about my own characters etc.
My main aim and issue where i need to work on is the memorisation of lines and probably still a bit of my realisation of characters. I need to ensure that every run leading up to performance is awesome nad that my every character is different.
I just you tubed Kevin Rudd. It will be very hard i think to send up his voice. He speaks quite formally but with a slight aussie twang which i have tryed to develop anyway. I think i will continue with the current choice of voice but add in more of a twang plus the use of the imaginable glasses, to really show and define who he is.
Girls i have enjoyed every minute of ensemble, and we have all developed an amazing friendship together. Handful forever lol.
Can’t wait to perform!
Jess
2 days to go ladies!
Just got home from our Tuesday after school rehearsal and I am feeling really happy about our ensemble now. Before we started our two run throughs I was really apprehensive about performing but after we did them, a streak of excitement came over me that we have actually been successful in making this ensemble AWESOME! Tomorrow’s run throughs are essential because we have to ensure the show is smooth and that there are NO hiccups whatsoever.
Tonight I’m going to be going over my lines and reading over my list of things I need to fix for tomorrow. Mr Cash said it in his feedback that I speak way too fast and this causes all my words to get tangled up in each other- and I totally agree. It’s more of a nerves thing but I really have to concentrate hard on pacing myself and working on my diction so that my lines can be conveyed to the audience clearly. Focus is the key and in tomorrow’s rehearsal I am going to try my hardest to remain in focus and NEVER break out of character.
The shirts (putting them on and off) isn’t as difficult as we first assumed it would be. I had two parts of the performance where I was struggling to put my shirt on but I know that if that happens on the night I just have to act as though it was all part of the scene and I have to subtely fix my shirt in character.  Ooo and remember ladies don’t ‘pop ya collars y’all’.
Well that’s enough from me, I think I’m going to go look over some of my lines! Rest up girls, and woo how exciting we’re almost there
